Shannon Roers Jones, a local business leader and legislator announced her candidacy for Mayor of Fargo today.
“As a business leader and attorney, I know that public service is not a career,” said Roers Jones. “I’m running for mayor because it’s time for fresh leadership to unlock Fargo’s unlimited potential.”
Raised in Fargo, Shannon grew up working in her family’s business where she learned the values of hard work, grit, and integrity. Those lessons proved invaluable as she earned her degrees in business and law. After college, Shannon returned to her hometown to raise her family and build her career as an accomplished real estate broker and general counsel for Roers Construction and Development.
Shannon has led growing teams both in the private sector and as an active board member for several non-profit organizations. In 2016, Shannon was elected by her neighbors to represent Fargo in the legislature. There she has been a bipartisan champion for public safety, criminal justice reform, economic development, and quality of life.
As mayor, Shannon will fight to fund our priorities while protecting taxpayers. “Together we’ll support our law enforcement and first responders, hold the line on taxes, and treat taxpayers like the customers we are,” said Roers Jones. “Fargo deserves a mayor who will champion our city as the best place to live, work, and raise a family!”
